Safety Test for Single Batteries: The Heating Test shall be carried out in accordance with the following steps:
1.1 Charge the single battery according to the method specified in 6.1.3.
1.2 Place the single battery in a temperature chamber. For lithium-ion batteries, the temperature of the temperature chamber shall be increased from room temperature to 130°C ± 2°C at a rate of 5°C/min, and maintain this temperature for 30 minutes before stopping the heating. For nickel-metal cyanide batteries, the temperature of the temperature chamber shall be increased from room temperature to 85°C ± 2°C at a rate of 5°C/min, and maintain this temperature for 2 hours before stopping the heating. Observe for 1 hour.
Safety Test for Battery Modules: The Heating Test shall be carried out in accordance with the following steps:
1.1.1 Charge the batteries in the battery module according to the method specified in 6.1.4.
1.1.2 For lithium-ion batteries, the temperature of the temperature chamber shall be increased from room temperature to 130°C ± 2°C at a rate of 5°C/min, and maintain this temperature for 30 minutes before stopping the heating. For nickel-metal cyanide batteries, the temperature of the temperature chamber shall be increased from room temperature to 85°C ± 2°C at a rate of 5°C/min, and maintain this temperature for 2 hours before stopping the heating.
